Pan fried Chicken Lollipops

Ah! After a long time am blogging again. Have quiet a number of things to share. And the heavy down pours in Chennai kept me away from work and blogging (read it blog hopping) over this weekend.
The roads are flooded, traffic held up and what a chaos ! Luckily we were able to get the power and the necessities with little difficulty. After a long time I was treated by a 3 long days of unexpected break at home and yay its time for celebration. When the entire city was drenched down we enjoyed these succulent chicken legs at home.

This is my first meat post I should say as we very rarely cook meat/chicken at home. Most of the time sea food finds place inside the kitchen. My elder one recently got hooked to these chicken legs and what good reason my amma should find to make them for him. And yeah we too enjoy along with him.

Try using fresh and tender fleshy chicken legs for this. It takes veyr little oil and tastes wonderful. I love it have as a snack or appetizer.

Ingredients:
Chicken legs for lollipops – 4
Sambar powder – 2 tea spoon
Salt as needed
Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tea spoon
Peanut oil – 5 tea spoons

How to make it ?
Clean and wash the chicken legs well. With a sharp knife make shallow slits on the flesh. Mix 1 teaspoon of the oil with the sambar powder (if you do not have sambar powder mix 1 tea spoon of chilli powder with 1 teaspoon of coriander powder), ginger garlic paste and salt to make a paste. Marinate the chicken legs in this paste for 1 hour. In the thick bottomed frying pan heat 1 tea spoon of oil and place the marinated chicken legs on it. Drizzle the remaining oil little by little whenever you see the legs dry up. Remember to use it sparingly as this amount is what you need to use till it gets cooked thoroughly. Turn the legs once in while for even cooking.

Serve hot on its own or with some steamed rice and rasam.

I did some weekend baking. Ever since I read about this Chocolate fondant cake in Fanny’s I was hooked. I finally made it this weekend. However I ignored the chocolate syrup but every bite is pure indulgence I should say.
